Pearls & Perils

Welcome to November! To think that next month we'll be coming to the end of the year is mind blowing! Time is not waiting for anyone. If you want to make the last two months of the year productive, this weeks pearl of the week is imperative to achieving your goals. One thing that we all have in common irrespective of who you are or where you are from is that we are all people of habits. We all have things that we do often, that it becomes second nature to us; certain tendencies that we have and specific things that we do. Generally when we think of habits we think of negative things, but having a habit can actually be a good thing if that particular habit is a positive one and benefits your life in some way. For example having the habit of always arriving early. Your habits can either make you or break you. In this week analyse yourself and see what habits do you have that are negative and what habits do you have that are positive. Challenge yourself to break your negative habits and to create good ones. You can only create a habit when you do something on a consistent basis. The reality of life is that many people fail to achieve their goals not because of a lack of opportunities but due to bad habits that impede them from fulfilling their potential. They may even have a positive outlook on life but if you have self destructive habits such as addictions, lying, making irrational decisions based on how you feel in the moment, the list is endless. With only a four days left of October I'm sure we can all agree that October is practically over. To think there's two months left of the year is crazy! The months are literally flying by if you are not someone who is intentional in the way you spend your time, you will always struggle to achieve your goals. As we start a new week be intentional with your time by eliminating time wasters from your life. Whether it be reducing the time you spend on social media, on your phone, listening to music, playing games, watching videos, idle conversations etc. Start to view your time as a very valuable currency, that once you have used it you can't get it back. When you begin to see time as something valuable you will not waste your time doing things that are of no benefit to your life nor will you invest time in toxic relationships which only bring unnecessary stress to your life. We often give more value to money than we do to time. When in fact money lost or spent can always be regained whereas time spent can never be replaced.

Once you eliminate the time wasters you have in your life, you will be surprised how much extra time you will have to invest in other things.

Have a productive week and don't forget to like, comment and share with a friend.

Can you believe we are already in the last week of October? This month has flown by so quickly! By next week Thursday it's a wrap for October and on to November. As we start a new week, set aside some time to reflect on how this month has been for you so far.

What opportunities have you seized? What changes have you made? Maybe you say well Peta-Kay 'I haven't received any opportunities this month'. I truly doubt this is the case, opportunities are available on a day to day basis the problem is that a lot of opportunities don't present themselves as opportunities but are presented as problems.

I found this quote which hits the nail on the head. “Opportunity is everywhere. The key is to develop the vision to see it.” -Anonymous.This couldn't be anymore accurate, everything starts with the way in which we see thing's. If we have a limited vision and only see the negative side of everything we are sure to miss out on a lot of opportunities in life because we didn't seize the opportunity for us to grow.

In this week don't sit around waiting for opportunities to come to you, but set your focus on identifying the opportunity in every situation you face. Create opportunities to take you a step closer towards your goals.

Have a productive week and share this post with a friend 😉
